The Plan of Salvation
"Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do? Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call. And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this untoward generation."
Acts 2:37-40 (KJV)
The above verse is the revelation of the mystery spoken by Jesus in Matthew 28:18-19 (KJV)…
"And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost…"
The Apostle Paul also supported this revelation in Colossians 2:8-10 (KJV)…
"Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ. For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power…"
Jesus is the One name which encompasses the the Father, Son and Holy Ghost. Acts 4:12 (KJV) says...
"Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved."
Spirit-Led
"For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: and if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together."
Romans 8:14-17 (KJV)
Receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost is just the start. We must then continuously ask our Heavenly Father what to do through Jesus, and obey the voice of God as delivered by the Holy Ghost. Ephesians 2:18 (KJV) says…
"For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father."
This is what is known as becoming a living sacrifice. Offering something of eternal value of God allows us to hear His voice. Romans 12:1-2 (KJV) says…
"I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God."
Fear of the Lord
Jesus (and other Prophets) issued more warnings than words of comfort and hope. We ignore these at our own peril. In Matthew 7:21-23 (NKJV), Jesus said…
"Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord,' shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, 'Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?' And then I will declare to them, 'I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!'"
Being Spirit-filled is not enough. We must allow the Holy Ghost to dictate our lives, or we are practicing lawlessness. Proverbs 14:26-27 (NKJV) says…
"In the fear of the Lord there is strong confidence, and His children will have a place of refuge. The fear of the Lord is a fountain of life, to turn one away from the snares of death."
The Fear of the Lord is choosing our Heavenly Father's will over everything (and everyone) else. Jesus' own brothers did not believe Him. Look how Jesus handled it in Matthew 12:46-50 (NKJV)…
"While He was still talking to the multitudes, behold, His mother and brothers stood outside, seeking to speak with Him. Then one said to Him, 'Look, Your mother and Your brothers are standing outside, seeking to speak with You.' But He answered and said to the one who told Him, 'Who is My mother and who are My brothers?' And He stretched out His hand toward His disciples and said, 'Here are My mother and My brothers! For whoever does the will of My Father in heaven is My brother and sister and mother.'"
